Meanwhile, over at One Buc Place, it's beginning to look a lot like training camp. Everywhere you go.
The practice fields at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' facility have been mowed and lined. The VIP tents and covered seating areas for fans are in place. Even the media buffet tables are set up.
All the Bucs need, it seems, is an OK from the NFL to begin workouts. It's likely the Bucs will get that later today.
According to reports by The Associated Press and other news organizations, the NFL is moving closer to the end of its fourth-month lockout. Representatives for the NFL Players Association are expected today to approve the collective bargaining agreement owners approved last week.
That will set into motion an ambitious schedule of activity for Bucs general manager Mark Dominik. Once a timetable for business transactions is established, Dominik must begin talks with and sign free agents, sign the team's 2011 draft picks and sign undrafted rookies.
While a specific date for the official opening of training camp has yet to be set, the Bucs are indeed ready for the arrival of their fans at team workouts, including workouts at One Buc Place and night practices at Raymond James Stadium.
That schedule could be released later today.
