WASHINGTON (WNB) - House members were terrified Wednesday when Rep. Elijah Cummings (RTRD-Md.) appeared to suddenly become possessed during a House Oversight Committee hearing.
Cummings exploded into an unintelligible screaming rant after Committee Chairman Darrell Issa gaveled the hearing closed. Lingering for a moment before apparently realizing Cummings was either insane or possessed, Issa then fled with other members.
Sources say Rep. Tim Walberg, an ordained minister, unsuccessfully attempted to cast out what he later called "a demon of liberal stupidity" from Cummings, before himself fleeing. A mumbling Cummings finally left the nearly-empty House chambers - his whereabouts are currently unknown.
"It was one of the scariest things I've ever seen," said a shaken Rep. Issa later. "I'm afraid he may have gotten that thing from Sheila Jackson Lee."
