The following is a Public Service Announcement from Organizing for Ebola — a subsidiary of Organizing for Action.
We have a systemic problem in the United States of America.
For too long, this nation has enjoyed more health and wellness than any other nation on the planet.
And this isn’t fair.
While nations in West Africa have suffered with the deadly disease Ebola that has killed thousands, we Americans selfishly have lived without fear of contracting this horrific disease.
While nations in South and Central America still battle tuberculosis, we Americans have selfishly eradicated this disease from our shores.
It just isn’t fair.
What we are seeing is Disease Inequality.
And that’s just wrong.
We in the United States have no right to live without the risk and danger of diseases that are killing so many of our neighbors in other lands.
We are a Global Community.
And in a Global Community, we should all share the viruses.
Because it’s the right thing to do.
