A 94-year-old former SS sergeant has told a German court he is "ashamed" that he served as a guard in the Nazis' Auschwitz death camp.
Reinhold Hanning also said he knew what was going on there but did nothing to stop it. I was born 10 years after the end of WW2. My dad was a preacher and we used to have alot of survivors of the death camps and POW's come to our church and give motivational speeches. I will never forget those tattoos on their forearms and the pain in their eyes! Sargent Hanning there is no forgiveness for what you did to those poor people ! I have been to Dachau, I saw the bullet holes in the concrete ditches, I saw the ashes still in the ovens. When I was stationed in Schwabach FRG in the late 70's my wife and I sort of adopted an old German lady .... she was missing 3 fingers on her right hand. The SS cut them off one at a time at Dachau because she wouldn't tell those bastards where her brother was hiding. His crime was being a communist in nazi Germany They finally caught him and blew his head off in an alley behind a beer hall in Munich .... To quote the Great Bob Dylan ....
