To those of you that don't know what the group 'W' bench is .... take the time .... kinda' long but worth it !
For the rest of you, just pretend it's Thanksgiving Day !
Heck yeah!, I always think Thanksgiving when i hear about injections, inspections,Detections and neglections. This and The "Motorcycle song" are true classics
Hi Sarge, Picture if you will, my "Flight Equip Shop/Para Loft" aboard the USS Princeton LPH-5 Viet Nam cruise '68. one night after hours, some of my "Friends" from Golf Company 2-26 Marines (They were the ones at "The Duck Farm" Tet '68) stop by the shop to have a cup of Coffee and listen to tunes!! Just happened to put on "Alice's Restaurant" and "Zeke" from NYC was diggin' it till we got to the part about "White Hall St.!!" and he perked up but the clincher was, you guessed it, "The Group W Bench!!!!" as we came to find out he had to go sit on!! Zeke told us his "Story" and everyone listened with gusto!! But the fun part... Zeke was into it when he heard "White hall St." but he came totally unglued when he heard, "The Group W Bench!!!" WOW Sarge, ya' jerked some fond memories outa' the old "Archive" in my brain from daze gone by!!! Unfortunately lost touch with a lot of "The Guys" but still have contact with a few!! Life goes on!! Thanksgiving always brings back "memories of daze gone by!!" Blue skies, III%, skybill-out
Glad you enjoyed it. In the two times I enlisted I never got to play with the pencils on the bench .... I always remembered what the great Bob Dylan said .... "anyting is legal as long as you don't get caught" !!!
